Holiday Update 2009
Hello again to all members of the Drs. R. Phelan, P.A. dental family! As with all families, there’s always something new and we like to keep everyone up to date.
In the realm of continuing education, we all got up bright and early for a snowy October drive down to Woburn, Massachusetts for Gordon Christensen’s CR Foundation Dentistry Update. The CR Foundation is a non-profit organization that uses volunteer efforts to test all kinds of dental products in an unbiased manner. The clinical team took lots of notes from Dr. Christensen himself while Kate and Mary learned about “what every office manager should know”. There was a focus on personality testing so next time you visit the office you might ask if the person treating you is a lion, an owl, a cocker spaniel, or a monkey!
Mary has also been taking some webinars geared towards helping the practice go paperless. One move in that direction is our new digital x-ray software. Please be patient with us as we iron out all the kinks. Digital x-rays allow us to get instant and accurate images of your teeth while using even less radiation than conventional x-rays.
Another major change at the office is that our long-time hygienist Nancy Cailler has left the practice. We know she was a favorite for many of you. She will be missed by all and we know she will miss you as well.
In personal news, Dr. Ralph Phelan is now up to four grandchildren, two girls and two boys. Johnna just bought a house and got a new puppy. Kim is pregnant with baby number four. And last but not least, there will be two weddings in 2010, Mary in July and Shannon in October!
We hope everyone is enjoying the oncoming snowy weather and staying healthy. As always we all look forward to being able to continue to care for you and your dental needs.
If you know of friends and family who are looking for a new dental home, we would be glad to have them. It is through your referrals that our dental family continues to grow!
Stay tuned for another update after the holiday season!
